My Review of "Easygoing Territory Defense by the Optimistic Lord"!

Make it, Make it, Make it Make it Make it~!
____Story____
Van Nei Fertio is the reincarnated fourth son of a marquis. As a young child, he was seen as a prodigy, but he was then blessed with production magic, a type of magic that was looked down on. His father banished him to a poor and weak small city, but Van tries his best to make the most out of the situation and make the city a safe and thriving place for the civilians using his production magic. This anime documents the development of Van’s relationships and city as he makes the most of his production magic.
____The Good____
I feel like this show got better and better with each episode, and I appreciate that. The animation in the last few episodes were neat in my opinion and comparing it to the first few episodes will show some improvements too. I appreciate that this story was able to kind of branch out from a generic OP child leader story and add some fun elements to it. I also found myself liking the OP and ED. They’re not going on my playlist, but I loved the silliness of them. Maybe it’s my dad who convinced me that this show is way better than it actually is, but I enjoyed it more than I expected to.
____The Bad____
Going into the first few episodes of this anime, I did have my worries. The animation seemed sort of lacking at the start. It wasn’t like straight up zooming in and out images, but it was less animated than a normal anime. However, the animation thankfully got better in the later episodes and made things look even better. The second worry I did have was that this show was gonna have a pretty generic story, but I actually found myself liking this story as the plot progressed. Even though these two issues did improve later on, one thing that I liked that got worse with each episode was simply the easygoing vibe of the show. I understand that these types of shows tend to have some serious high-risk events as the season comes to an end, but if you’re advertising the show as an easygoing one, it doesn’t need the seriousness for it to be a good show. I think that really took away from the charm it initially had for me and kind of left me feeling meh at the end.
____The Downright Ugly____
There was nothing downright ugly about this anime :)
____Is It Worth The Watch?____
This show… I’m kind of mixed about it. At first, I had my few doubts about this show growing old on me as well as a few animation worries, but this show did the opposite and I think some issues were resolved as the show continued. However, the seriousness that was added later on really took away some of the things I liked about it. I can’t really be confident in saying that this show was worth the watch, but I don’t think it’s necessarily not worth it either. If you’re willing to embrace the comedy to serious vibe that it’ll give, maybe it’s worth the watch. Otherwise, you should probably find another show.
