1/100One of the worst anime ever, one of the most terrible character, and zero redeeming qualities.Continue on AniListOne of the worst anime I’ve watched since Smartphone Isekai, and honestly, I didn’t think anything could reach that level again. From start to finish, this show feels like a complete waste of time, with almost nothing to offer in terms of story, characters, or entertainment. I went into it expecting at least something mildly enjoyable, but what I got instead was frustrating, boring, and painfully poorly written.
There is no real plot to follow. Events just happen randomly without any buildup, logic, or consequences. It feels like the story has no direction at all, as if the writers didn’t have a clear idea of what they wanted to achieve. There’s no tension, no stakes, and no reason to stay invested. Each episode blends into the next, creating a dull and repetitive experience that quickly becomes exhausting.
Kunon is easily one of the worst parts of the entire anime. I genuinely don’t understand how a character can be written this badly. He somehow turns into the biggest simp imaginable, without any believable motivation or development. There is no depth to him, no personality that stands out in a good way, and no meaningful growth throughout the story. Every time he appears on screen, it just makes everything worse. Instead of improving over time, he remains just as irritating and poorly handled from beginning to end.
The rest of the characters are not any better. In fact, they make the situation even worse. None of them are likable, interesting, or memorable. Their actions don’t make sense, their dialogue feels unnatural, and their interactions lack any kind of chemistry. At times, it honestly feels like they had a lobotomy at birth because it’s hard to believe how consistently stupid their decisions are. There is no emotional connection to any of them, which makes the entire experience feel empty.
The writing overall is extremely weak. Dialogue is repetitive and often pointless, scenes drag on without adding anything meaningful, and moments that should have impact fall completely flat. There is no proper pacing, no structure, and no effort to build something engaging. Everything feels rushed and dragged out at the same time, which is a strange but very noticeable problem.
Even on a visual level, the anime fails to stand out. The animation is average at best, with no memorable scenes or creative direction. It looks generic and uninspired, which perfectly matches the rest of the show.
Overall, this anime is a complete failure. It lacks a proper story, has terrible characters, and offers no real entertainment value. It’s frustrating to watch and even more frustrating to think about afterward. Honestly, it doesn’t deserve even a 1/10.

48/100A review about Kunon the Sorcerer Can See by Zmaj!Continue on AniListA cure for blindness through magic !This review DOES contain spoilers! Kunon the Sorcerer, a story about a boy that is born without vision because of a curse that runs in his bloodline as a descendant of a certain hero. I had a relatively high hope for this anime when I saw it scheduled for the winter season of 2026 but I can not say it was worth the excitement I had for this. Before I started writing this review I held multiple discussions about this show with some of my friends in my community. While there were some positive things to say about it, the majority ended up not being as good. Now it's time for my thoughts!
The start of this anime was not so bad at all for me, however I do have to point out one thing that made this start absolutely horrible, the maid! I don’t know if the novel had intended it this way but her voice was so annoying to listen to and her attitude was insufferable. I didn’t hate this show at all when I started watching it besides the maid. Kunon is a young boy that has been struggling in his younger years of life because he had no vision. There is one thing however that changes him forever and that is magic. He gets passionate and sets his goal, he will create a spell that will allow him to see! This is a very simple concept but there is nothing wrong with it. I was ready for the journey of a kid figuring out how to deal with his blindness in a more positive way than before and develop his magic in creative ways. And to be honest, the anime did a pretty decent job with it! The show did not feel like a bad watch at all for me. One occurring point a lot of people made about Kunon in this stage of the show was his behavior and that especially him joking with the girls/women in this show. He gained a lot of confidence when he was progressing with magic and gained a pretty boasting personality. On top of that he was thought to have a “gentleman persona” which made him very flirty with every female character in the show while the boasting character was shown towards every male character. I didn’t mind this too much at the start since well, he was a kid that struggled with being blind all his life and he finally managed to feel positive in his life now. He also already had a fiancé at the start of the show (arranged marriage) and they were forced to meet up every now and then to meet up which did feel a bit awkward to watch at times in my opinion. I’ve seen people complain how his flirty jokes with every girl in the show makes him not loyal to his fiancé but then again, what do you expect a 10ish year old kid to know about this? Throughout the show we still see him set to stay with his fiancé.
Now in the middle of the show is where I really got mixed feelings from the show. The first half was alright, like I said, a simple concept with not too much going on but also no real reason for me to truly hate it. It was very watchable especially if you wouldn’t pay full attention at all times and just watch it in a relaxed manner. Now the second part and I will start off with episode 7 of the show. This episode was named after the name of the show and you might guess it from that, Kunon gains the ability to see through a spell. After some training with his current mentor and him testing out his vision for some time it's decided that he will be attending a special magic school. Another reason I really wanted to point out this episode is because it seemed like Kunon started reflecting on things around him and himself and we also experience a time skip here. So my first thought after watching this was hey, we will be developing his character in a positive way! Sadly this was not the case, the basic behavior and flirty jokes came right back the next episode and while the academy was a nice change of location and I was curious about it at the start, I kinda stopped caring for it in the middle of it. It was just Kunon is so great, Kunon helps the girls with passion and the boys get to work under him. Every girl there, student or teacher, deserves flirty over the top reactions and I feel like Kunon doesn’t develop his own magic in really any way differently then he had so far. It's like the whole progress just stopped? Well an important thing I almost forgot to mention is, the maid was gone and we got the maids little sister now who is way less worse but was this the exchange for the main characters development? It honestly feels like such a shame since the hope I received from episode 7 just disappeared. The last two episodes felt especially annoying, with the factions sending their “best girls” to recruit Kunon and him just being his usual self around them the whole time. While he was talking to the faction leaders he gave the two dudes short cocky answers while he gave the girl leader overly exaggerated answers. And then for the final fight he would 4v1 the girls from the different factions just for him to use an old spell he used while training with his old master and beating all of them. It just felt all so empty and I was happy when it finished since it meant the jokes finally stopped.
Well to finish up this review, it was watchable but it was not good for sure. I want to add another thing which is unrelated to the quality of the show itself but a friend of mine told me that Kunon’s mask looks like a bdsm mask and I keep thinking about it now whenever I see it.. sigh. I wouldn’t label this show as terrible either, I had moments I was enjoying the watch but there weren’t many of those moments. Now for my final rating of the whole show it was a decision in were the good parts overshadowing the bad parts or was it the other way around and honestly, maybe because I was watching it weekly, for me it were the bad things that were overshadowing the better moments. Because of this my final rating for this show will be a 4.8, a watchable show but too many things that held it down for me bringing it slightly under the literal “mid”.
